Jamie is a WBxTB.

I love Jamie but am starting to admit defeat with managing him on the ever present yarra valley grass. I have a hectic job, some family commitments and a 2nd horse and I was (still am sort of) planning to have Jamie as my secondary guy for easy going fun here and there, or as a ride for someone to accompany me with the other horse when I go places. Just struggling to keep a lid on the grass with him and I know how lovely and easy he is without the grass. When I bought him (end of 2019) I had hardly jumped a cross pole all year, and no XC for 5 years. I jumped him over 80cm with ease and popped round some lovely XC fences with him. He was just easy and fun. And he stayed that way for several months until our Autumn grass growth spurt which took me a couple months to figure out.

I would love to find him a home with someone who doesn’t have grass and who wouldn’t be relying on him to be a competitive horse as I don’t think his hock would stand up to a lot of schooling or jumping (see info above re: hock arthroscopy or ask me any questions). However that remains to be seen with slow, careful management to ensure he is working correctly and using his core and top line. Currently taking him barefoot as his feet do better unshod.

I’m not in a panic to move him on, eventually the grass will burn off and I’ll have a few months reprieve! I am expecting to travel quite a bit next year with family commitments and I’m weighing up my realities.

Price very negotiable, home is important. I do not want him passed around.
